This week, I had the opportunity to attend the Amazon Web Services Imagine Event in Austin, Texas, focusing on Generative AI, Education, State and Local Leaders. It was a fantastic opportunity to explore various industries and learn from diverse solutions. By the way, spanning boundaries is nothing new for us.
Years ago, we ventured into real estate events with Tony Robbins, gaining insights into digital marketing and online training. From the car industry, we learned about innovation, branding, and customer service with Tesla, while also understanding the pitfalls through the failures of Segway and Kodak. Significant lessons came from Google Cloud events, which led me to know the revolutionary Cloud Kitchens from the food industry, a clear insight to transforming my conventional orthodontic practice into a fully remote cloud-based operation business a decade ago, Ortho.i® Cloud Practice.
Even the brand "Ortho.i®" is a portmanteau, blending "orthodontics" and "intelligence," inspired by the iMac and Gol, a Brazilian airline. Recently, our partnership with OpenAI has been particularly enlightening.
It's clear to me that new insights to revolutionize your field are rare, but learning from solutions to problems in other fields is a valuable shortcut.
Being an early adopter of technology to work smarter and boost productivity comes with an interesting bonus: more time. Incorporating all these technologies is not cheap or easy, but it is definitely worth it. It offers us a desirable lifestyle, allowing us to unite education, technology, innovation, nature, and joy in the same event like these past couple of days. This is a great example of how doctors can achieve balance in life being innovators and have more time for themselves and their loved ones.
